I'm Sadé. I'm a 30-something New York native (Queens raised, currently residing in Brooklyn). As you can see, I'm a Black Woman and I'm deeply proud of that. I come from a family of dancers & artists, and wound up studying & performing classical/contemporary ballet for a number of years myself. Leaving the dance world at 17, I moved on to attend Penn State University at University Park where I double majored in Communication Arts & Sciences and Philosophy, minored in African & African American Studies, and was initiated into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Professionally, I have 17+ years’ marketing experience telling engaging stories primarily across digital and social channels. I’ve taught courses with the Digital Marketing Institute in Dublin, Ireland and have led many workshops on marketing, branding, social media, and content strategy. Problem-solving and truth-telling are my core ambitions -- whether it be in the office, or with my family and friends. I love helping people and brands authentically connect with (and add value to) the world.
DJing is another skill I’ve passionately cultivated, and my love of music often whisks me down Soundcloud rabbit holes for hours. I catch artists at live shows and festivals every chance I get because to me being in community whilst celebrating meaningful art is one of the best experiences life has to offer. (It’s what sociologists call “collective effervescence”.) Overall, I believe in living out loud — hence, “Sadé In Stereo”. I believe in the power of communication…and that honest expression is the key to our collective liberation. On a lighter note, I exercise a lot of freedom with my (loud) outfits, but other folks seem to dig my personal style too haha.
I’d like to believe I’m a billboard advertising the peace and joy that can be achieved by being one’s whole self, unapologetically…and the people in my orbit and brands I’ve worked with tend to be better for it.
